While Jurgen Klopp’s winning machine might have steamrollered all before them to cruise to the top-flight crown, the fact that a 34-year-old central midfielder is their back-up option at left-back remains a nagging concern.
And with Liverpool looking to make a better job of balancing domestic and European football in 2020/21, the Merseyside giants will surely need more than an ageing James Milner if Robertson, god forbid, finds himself stuck on the treatment table for an extended period of time.
According to Goal, the six-time continental champions will look to bring in reinforcements if the right player becomes available – for the right price of course.
But Lewis, despite Norwich’s immediate return to the Championship, will not come cheap.
The Belfast Telegraph suggested last week that the Northern Ireland international could cost around £20 million amid interest from Leicester City.
Quite a substantial sum for a player who would spend much of his time at Anfield watching on from the sidelines.

Speaking to Sky recently, Klopp made it clear that superstar attackers like Timo Werner and Kai Havertz won’t be arriving at Anfield in an era of unprecedented financial uncertainty.
It remains to be seen whether Lewis, too, will be placed on the backburner until the market returns to something approaching normality.
Interestingly, Liverpool have a track record when it comes to signing players from relegated sides, landing Gini Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri during the Klopp era.
