Camera allowed in dressing rooms

Cameras look set to be allowed inside Premier League dressing rooms on match days, as part of plans by broadcasters to increase access while football prepares to play behind closed doors.

Plans are for up to a minute of footage to be aired from changing rooms pre-match, at half-time and post-match, although the latter would only be for the winning team.

Changing-room access is top of the wish list for broadcasters Sky Sports and BT Sport — and it looks likely to be given the go-ahead, with clubs in favour of such footage, although it would come without any sound. It is thought such a move could become the new norm on TV, even when spectators are allowed to return. It is not believed that the proposal would cause any sort of breach of contract for clubs like

Manchester City and Tottenham, who had existing access-all-areas deals in place with Amazon Prime.

The move is part of a push by the Premier League to change tack from the Bundesliga in how matches are broadcast when the season resumes.
